Money, Money, Money
The yen was so strong last week that when Toshi went to the bank, they were SOLD OUT of Traveler's Checks in US Dollars and Euros. Crazy.
After living in Japan for more years than I like to count, I feel like I need to actively recapture my ability to manipulate the words of the English language and so I write. I write of my life in Japan, with my two kids, with my pathetic Japanese ability and with my in-laws who live four doors down. I write of the foreigner life and my search for small slices of familiarity. I choose to be here, but that doesn't mean that it is always easy. I love food, I love books, I love my family (here and there). I love clouds and flying and singing along with my music no matter how much I bother my neighbors.
